I'm working with EE 3.0, but I think there should be no problem with 2.0

RE: BYR Tree Generator
Ok, I'm impressed. I love making tools, and THAT is a *very* cool tool.

If you could get it to export to formats such as FBX, how viable of an option would it be to sell that as a standalone binary tool?

RE: BYR Tree Generator
@Rubeus - I started this as simple tool for Esenthel, but now when I put some much work into it, I thinking a lot to make it also standalone. I'm pretty proud of result I made, and I have many ideas on how to expand this project. But we will see, I do not want to jinx it.

Alpha Demo available:

There is few issues I'm aware of, but if you want, you can try demo (for your own risk, pfft).
Also, pack of bark textures and leaves to play with from DeviantArt guy Nobiax if you don't have your own.

It would be great if you guys test it and tell me what you think. Next thing I wanna do is make it more user-friendly.

RE: [Demo available] BYR Tree Generator
That is fantastic!

A couple bugs I found:
-When using the mousewheel to scroll the list, it zooms the viewport in/out
-Some fields have buttons next to them - are they supposed to do anything?
-"Add Roots" option does nothing, and gets the menu stuck until next right click
-Some rotations specify they are in Deg, some don't. It would be good to standardize all the input to one or the other. Deg would probably be best.
-I did crash a couple times. I was unable to pinpoint where the crash came from. It happened twice when changing the tree's radius option, but other times it worked fine.

RE: [Demo available] BYR Tree Generator
Thank you very much for feedback.
- I'll fix this, thank you;
- Buttons will be do something pfft I just didn't implement it yet
- As above, I have some issues with roots, so I remove this options from demo for now, I forgot to remove this from context menu.
- Make sense, I'll make it all Deg.
- I didn't had any crash recently and I test it a lot, maybe it depends of value of some options, I'll investigate this.

Thanks again for your time and opinion ^^ This project is still far from I want to accomplish, but I hope it will be useful soon.

RE: [Demo available] BYR Tree Generator
Thank you for sharing this early alpha demo, it looks really promising and I liked the general look for the gui. For now I'll not comment about any bugs or missing functionality as its still early to judge.
you know, I created nice tree with it I really wished that time if the exporting is functional smile
Good luck

Check-out the software page and videos of TreeSketch. Perhaps features their publications might prove useful.

@Alexsee thank you, I will investigate it. I've seen this page some time ago, but already forgot about it. But indeed, I might find few ideas from them.
