RE: MMO Progress
out of curiosity I've sent an email to i3d.net about their gpu's in dedicated servers, and received the reply:
Quote:Every server has a GPU, but limited.
You will not receive anything special on a dedicated server (dell uses a
32mb intel if I'm correct)
they have intel with 32MB ram, but didn't tell which model.

RE: MMO Progress
Every server of theirs might have GPU's, and from what I see, half of their server offerings are Dell which they state, and the others, can be any series/brand or custom built.
and no they dont all use Intel, they vary from series, to model, to brand.
the R200 uses Integrated ATI® ES1000(which is 32MB)
Also to state differences.
Tested on two of my "older" computers, my new rig, and my mini server.
Current used rig is AMD Phenom x6 1055T, 2.8Ghz(6-Cores) and a HD5850. empty server uses 1% on idle.
Intel Q6600 2.4Ghz - Nvidia 295, empty server uses 1% on idle.
Intel Xeon™ X3360 2,83GHz - Intel 32 MB, empty server doesnt go below 6%
Intel E7500 2.93Ghz - Intel GMA 4500(32MB), empty server doesnt go below 6-7% here.
Notice that the Xeon is a server component versus home desktop CPUs and at higher clock.
The other difference is only the video cards at most.
They got the same power supply, the two later ones runs Windows server 2008 and the first runs Windows 7.
all got 8GB memory.
Now, I wanted to check my theory regarding this, and put in my older HD3850 the xeon CPU usage went from its minimum 6% cpu usage down to 1% constant idle. So only with the change of a GPU, cpu perf got better.
