[SOLVED] Horrible Terrain Quality
Hi Esenthel, i'm testing the free version of the engine.
Esenthel have all the features that we need, and its quality is really great.
But not the terrain.
I'm importing a 2048x2048 heightmap made on L3DT and i'm getting a really bad terrain quality.
I've made a comparison with Unity3. I've put a player model in each engine so you can compare it.
As you can see with unity i've reached a stuning terrain quality with a huge terrain size, anyway unity don't have the other features we need. Esenthel have these features but we can't get the terrain quality that we are looking for.
Please say me if we can get the same terrain quality of unity 3 or better, and how.
Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english.

RE: Horrible Terrain Quality
Hi,

First please change your source image to 16-bit PNG file.

Then you can select "menu\main\new", there you have heightmap resolution options, you can increase it, after that reimport the terrain.

Please make sure that you also have "heightmap\mesh quality" set to full.

RE: Horrible Terrain Quality
I have the resolution from the menu/main/new set to 128 (max), the png is a 16bit file and the mesh quality is set to max in the screenshot i've posted.
Any other ideas?

RE: Horrible Terrain Quality
Here is the png file, as you can see it is a 16bit png.

About the options, i've tested with changing the size option from 1 to 25 in both vertices, the same with radius option, and the height from 1 to 200.
In all cases the result was the same =/
I hope you can help me with any tip or something to get this terrain working.
Thanks for your help!

RE: Horrible Terrain Quality
You can use the autoupdate tool, 16bit png file will now import correctly in dx10+ too

And yes, i've used dx10 version of world edit in the screenshot that i've posted.
