Esenthel Engine Installer -> Get it here.
There seems to be an interest in an automatic installer, so I decided to put one together.

Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?m2h6ya4ul6c4ic3

The installer itself is very basic so far; here is what it does:

- It unzips EsenthelEngineSDK into programfiles(x86)\EsenthelEngineSDK by default, please change this path when on 64bit windows; it will be fixed later.

- The installer creates start-menu entries for the most important tools and the documentation.chm

- At the end of the installer, it will perform a DirectX web-update, please wait for this to finish.

- Launches Autoupdate.exe after installing with correct data path.

I plan on adding more features to this. When Esenthel releases an installer of his own, I will stop supporting mine.
When you find any bugs in it, or when you think of more things it should do, let me know.

ToDo:

- Automatic 32/64 bit detection for installation path.
- more start-menu items.
- ?? Tips/comments are welcome.

Thanks for the installer Tottel. I'll check it out when I have the time.

A few suggestions I don't see mentioned:

Locate the Visual Studio folder and place installation files in it.
Install PhysX.
Check for installing Esenthel Settings or keeping Visual Studio ones.
Optional download of the Beginner Tutorial.

Otherwise it looks good. Thanks for the quick creation.

EDIT: Would the Engine Updater download the latest version of everything if you just ran it without any engine files? If so you don't need to include an outdated Engine.

Updated the installer a bit.

- Automatically creates Path.txt which contains the path to your data folder.
- Launches Autoupdate.exe after installing. This already has the correct project and data path. You still need to fill in the VC path.
- Updated to the latest Engine version.

@Runewake2: Thank you for the tips, I will gradually try to add some. All installation files are placed automatically in the VC directory when you do the Autoupdate, though.
Later down the road, I will provide a small installer that downloads all required files, but for now, it's not really needed.

Hey,
Could be me, but the download link from the main site only gives you autoupdate.exe - disguised as an installer. It just sits in the corner and does nothing. However, the above mediafire link worked (so far, so good).

Now on to the Tuts, Thanks!

Humph,
I've tried this engine a while ago, and never had problems.

Autoupdate does nothing but hang in the corner of my screen. It'd be nice to have that fixed. Is it a Win7 thing? It worked before in Vista (Or'd I have XP back then, can't remember...!)

No big deal, I did it manually as per the help on Wiki
http://www.esenthel.com/wiki/index.php?t...on_Windows

But:
Please copy file "EsenthelEngineSDK\Installation\EsenthelEngine64DX10+.lib" to "Microsoft Visual Studio\VC\lib\amd64"

My install does not have DX 64-Bit Library ..? No big deal, I'll just use 32 bit happily for now. (That's all VC express can do anyway.)

Just wanted to make sure this known. Last time I had no problems. This time, some things are a little broken.

Thanks, NOW off to the Docs.

Sure, Sorry.
Hang (in this case, anyway) means "do nothing -endlessly"

Here's a screenshot:
