I'm surprised that I did not see any references to the use of Early Z in the Wiki | Performance Optimizations section.

What is the general consensus on using Early Z on all static objects, for example? I am seeing a slight increase in framerate with it on, but I'd like to hear Esenthel's thoughts and other dev's experience with it. I'm sure there are circumstances where it makes more sense to turn it off on some objects, or not at all. I feel that "leaving it on for all mesh objects" is not the typical answer for this question either.
