Regarding tri-planar texturing.

It sounds like it's fairly easy to implement and would improve the texturing of terrain in Esenthel. Is it something that can be added?

While I agree with this request, I think the optimizations (any decent effort towards it) is more important at this point. There are some projects midway its progress and the engine's performance limitations have become more exposed and I think that for any decent project to accomplish success, performance plays an integral role.

I think all of you are right, 2d textures in 3d engine is.. just wrong, and optimization is most welcome, i am working on project where i need both things, hardware instancing and third y texture coordinates, although i managed to make it look good, it took a lot of work..

I wanted to give this Feature request a bump , as I could not find it on the roadmap.

just this Week it occurred to me that this is already kinda implemented in the Editor...
the textures in there are not stretched at all (of course they also don't line up at the seams, which is not acceptable ingame)

Any chance to at least get this on the roadmap? Any chance making this a feature included in the "crowd sourcing" part of the shop?
