RE: advice
Welcome!

Just go for the (free) 1.0 version for now.
I assume that you're doing a solo project? If so, you don't really need the 2.0 editor as it's mainly made for collaboration between team members.

After a while, you can consider getting a license or the 2.0 editor.

RE: advice
nop im actually leading a team haha my team is made ... i was asking for engine .. game is far in progress already and i do have the 1.0 for now ... reason im asking this is because we are going public soon and im going to have to buy a license ...

were 8 on the team right now ... when i was doing my 3d modeling degree at ubisoft campus i met people that were down to start a gaem with me and so we did smile

this is not a wannabe project with impossible things to accomplish in mind ...
this is a project between me and a fiew friends that all have their degrees for there respective position, we only missing a programmer but everyone of us is working on that in-case we dont get noe we might be able to do this ourselves

RE: advice
Without a programmer is it really a game or just assets and world painted and built though?

but for your question, Tottel answered it. and I guess the confusion is the use of "I" instead of "We" you didn't give even a hint of being a team, which is why he assumed you were doing a solo project.

and doing a comparison to Realmcrafter(DX9 btw) with other 'engines'(don't know the other ones you might have used) is really unwise, as Realmcrafter is not even worth comparing to any engine(IMO).

Also, for another note
Quote:this is not a wannabe project with impossible things to accomplish in mind ...
Is very common to hear when people are asking about engines, especially so when the planned game is an MMO.

Remember though, 2.0 is per seat, so each member needs their own license.

RE: advice
ok so are you going to answer my question or argue about the fact that i used I instead of We ? I am hereto make a game if you cant understand this well ill ask someone else! i sick off this why you even started talking about realmcrafter ?! I said I wanted to know to i get first edition or alpha second edition THATS IT thats all i wanna know i dont give a damn about the rest you right down ...

I am not a programmer BUT I do have some knowledge ! I have alot of respect for programmers because it's the hardest task, this is why i dont call my self one, I am slow and not a professionnal but I can sure do all the scripts on my own if I wanted my game to be done in 4 years ? This is a 1-2 years project with early releases

RE: advice
If you had bothered to read you would've seen that I confirmed Tottels answer, your behaviour isn't exactly giving me an ideal position to try and inform as well as answer your question.

RE: advice
You wanted advice, and Zervox delivered.

If you don't have a programmer, it doesn't matter how much content you've created, you will NEVER get a working MMO in Esenthel.

There's no need to attack anyone giving you advice. Feel free to ignore Zervox, but at some point you'll have to consider that he was right.

RE: advice
Troll much?

Topic name is general it says: advice

you ask if you should or shouldn't get a license, but then again you comment about how you got let down by the devs behind Realmcrafter, what I gave you was advice and far in development without a single programmer is just....a laughable attempt of trying to be of any importance.

RE: advice
We already advised you what to do.

It's just a tad hard to give proper advice when you leave out 90% of the information that would affect such a decision.

If you're going to release next month, it would seem to me that you'd just need the 1.0 license, as you'd only need 1 license for the entire team.

If everyone in your team wants the 2.0 editor, you'll have to buy it 8 times.

I think you would be best off buying 8 licences for each of your team, you will have to learn the scripting language for this engine, it can get confusing at times. You cannot buy the personal licence because you want to commercialise the product and make money from it. Read the license conditions properly.

RE: advice
I understand the fact that I would need 8 licenses, its a per seat engine ... But we are looking to do forward games and paying per app would be useless in longrun and a waste of money my team and I are ready to invest a copy for each of us, but my question was actually is the alpha second edition stable ?
