Whats the best way to calculate accuracy in height maps with Esenthel Engine..

For example I took 60km of DEM land and if I was using a 1024x1024 8 bit grey scale png of a real life section of earth, I would like for it to look accurate in height, and size but in ratio to the character height, and the default world size of 60 x60 in relation to radius size..
Would radius size in the editor effect this in any way? or would I set the radius to 60x60 or 1024x1024?
The reason why I ask this is other engines Ive used there was no control over the radius size so I am a bit confused..
