Now when I add the path, then on reboot I see a black screen, but by removing the path, all the tools are working properly to restart and so on

Did you try maximizing the window? If I remember correctly, I had to maximize the window after the path was set when running a tool on my laptop in order for it to detect any input. Wasn't a black screen, but maybe this do the trick.
