importing Blender .obj and texturing
Hi all, i have just downloaded the free version but im already in trouble.
file.blend simple modeled in blender and exported in file.obj
open file.obj in the model editor works fine, but i cannot add the material...
what's the problem? i must add the texture separately than the material?

RE: importing Blender .obj and texturing
Textures should be in the folder with the model and UV mapped

RE: importing Blender .obj and texturing
Prepare thw whole model design in blender, even animations. Everything works fine with blender 2.49. You just have to use the b3d exporter.
I dont know if it is implemented in the current esenthel version, but a working fbx importer for blender 2.5 exported files should also work or comes in near future.
[edit]
i gave it a short try.. it all works perfectly with blender 2.5 and fbx export now

RE: importing Blender .obj and texturing
ok, ive uv mapped the model and exported to .obj.
when i import it in the model editor i still dont see the texture that ive used in blender but i can add the material browsed in the material list... whats the point in that?
another question, texture material and shader... whats the difference and when and how you use they?

RE: importing Blender .obj and texturing
create a new material with the created texture as grabonito said.
but I would prefer an export as fbx. A full compatillity is with fbx given. Also for animation
