Thank you, aceio76, for your response.
For the benefit of other newcomers who are trying to get to grips with the World Editor, just let me clarify what I'm doing (rightly or wrongly?):
In the World Editor I've imported my heightmap terrain (not without some struggle, I might add) and as a placeholder for a future ocean, I've laid out an 'oceanplane' mesh at my desired height level, as follows:
My query is related to me wanting to hide the 'oceanplane' mesh, so that I could paint the terrain underneath.
I had also added a 'Warrior' to the editor, for checking the scale.
On opening the 'OBJ_CHR' Object Class, I noticed that it included the 'Warrior' mesh, as well as my 'oceanplane' mesh (somehow added automatically?)
I added a new 'OBJ_WATER' Object Class to the World Editor list, but was unable to figure out how to assign my 'oceanplane' mesh to this Object Class (as you suggested)
So the only way I could eventually hide the 'oceanmesh' was by the means shown in the two pics below:
This example serves to illustrate my main frustration with Esthenel, as a newcomer... there is just no operating manual explaining
all the ins and outs of the various tools. Hence my strong support for a Wiki, or a 'Cookbook', or a 'Tricks and Tips'
