Possibility of Future Linux Support
With the recent push for game development on Linux by Valve and many other developers, is there any possibility of having Linux supported by the engine in the future.
I'm not talking necessarily any time soon as there are other features that I would prefer sooner. I just think it would be a good thing to plan for the future. With the way Windows is going there's no knowing what will happen and Linux seems to be finally proving itself. Valve has found that it's games even perform better on Linux.
Just a thought.
p.s. I'm not a Linux fanboy. In fact I was against it at one point, However, I'm willing to eat my words on that because it seems that it is becoming much more popular that I had originally imagined and don't want to get left behind with the times.

RE: Possibility of Future Linux Support
I like Linux. Especially for hosting. However, Linux is still far from being completitive being as there are still far to many different variations of it. I to would like to would like to see support for lLnux servers anyways.

RE: Possibility of Future Linux Support
I would like to see Linux Server to be supported as well and this could be useful feature in the future especially to supporting online gaming. However I am skeptical about Linux desktop and in my humble opinion, they still represent very low user base. As much as Valves wish to support linux desktop, I don't think Linux would go far at this moment nor will it pick up anytime soon except for small niche. However enabling support for linux would be good in the future.

Wine + xvfb should let you run an Esenthel based server like Ineisis through a terminal command line (the SQLITE version).

RE: Possibility of Future Linux Support
What about performance ? It makes no sense to run the server on Linux if it would be much slower and allow less players to play.
I would like to see esenthel server on linux without wine
