GFX as material
Hey all, I have one newbie question about Esenthel.
It is recommended to store images as GFX format, however material editor can't read gfx files (but it reads .jpg file from which .gfx one was created), why?
są dwa style pisania - pierwszy to: "popatrzcie jaki ja jestem mądry" - a drugi to: "popatrzcie jakie to proste" - Jerzy Grębosz

RE: GFX as material
hum??
generally all pictures are converted into gfx automatically. you also can use gfx files as you use normal pictures.
[edit]
btw the pictures are just the textures themself. so the material is *.mtrl

RE: GFX as material
Check "Documentation.chm" in Esenhel SDK folder and go to Resources -> Images, there is all explain.
Documentation.chm Wrote:Images are saved in GFX format, by importing them from BMP PNG JPG TGA DDS PSD formats.
GFX is an Esenthel native image format supporting wide variety of pixel formats (B8G8R8A8, DXT, PVRTC, ..) and modes (Software, Hardware 2D, Hardware 3D, Hardware Cube) designed for biggest performance and flexibility.
Converting images to GFX textures used on 3D models (materials) is done in Material Editor which is available in the Editor tool.
Converting images to GFX textures used in 2D graphics is done in Converter tool.
Due to old video cards limitations, texture dimensions are encouraged to be a power of 2, for example 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, they can also be a rectangle (for example 512x1024).
