Is there a reason that the EE fonts are ridiculously huge images? Using the EE fonts, anything under ~40pt font doesn't look so great, but that size nets a 512px image per character. Even at 8pt, the images are 128px.
Fonts can realistically and with good quality be converted at a 1:1 ratio- 1pt = 1px; 30pt = 30px; etc. Having even a 256px image per character seems quite a bit excessive, unless working with full-screen text-but there are better ways to do this than having 60+ 512x512 images in memory.

The images are not per character, they include multiple characters.
