Time for Creating Demo - let's set 3 months initially, starting 28 October, with deadline at 28 January (depending on the progress later it can be optionally extended)

Judging - Users vote for their favorite games, spending 3 points to best game, 2 points to 2nd best game, 1 point to 3rd best game, you can not vote on your own game. Voting will be hidden.

Who can vote - not yet decided (either participants only, or members registered up to this moment, or everyone)

Who can join - everybody

How many games you can submit - how many you want

Does the games need to be finished - no

Award - posting about the winner on the front page news

So, when can we sign up?

i think you simply sign up, by uploading your demo.
you just have to do it within 3 months (unless its extended)

all who want to compete, please send me a PM ("I want to compete in Demo Contest"), I'd like to know how many people are interested in creating a demo.

I've received info from few people who would like to compete. so I can officialy start the contest now. end time is 3 months from now (I've updated the first post).
during this time, please state your opinions about who can vote.

for voting i suggest members registered up to this moment, as (not a attack against anyone), but some people cheat by making multiple accounts to vote.

I would go for: all people who have registered until now.. Just to make sure people don't make accounts to vote.

Can we get one extra month to finish games?

Can contestants PM me first with some screens of more or less what they have?
I know that many people seemed eager to join the contest, but I'm not actually sure how many of them actually made something

Ok. I ask so early because i must organize my work. Now i don't have anything to show but I make and I will try to end it even on 28 January but I prefer to get extra month.

because of that I don't think that there's much sense in running the game demo contest now.

what do you say if we'll wait with the contest until the community gets bigger? and more people would like to participate.

This sounds good for me. I couldn't make the initial January deadline; it'd be too unpolished in my case to force the release of a demo at 40% progress.
