I was chatting with a fellow friend the other day and realized that I really do miss the old shoutbox/chat from the old site. It was great to meet others here and just chit chat about the engine, games, graphics, or just how someones day was. I was lucky I think, as I got here just before the forums switched.

I am wondering if there are any plans to bringing back a shoutbox/chat again? Or are plans to just keep things on the forums themselves? This is a great community, and even though I do not post often I still come in and visit every day.

Well chat would be great for the website, u cant just use the forums for some chitchat stuff.

Maybe we should set up an IRC channel..

I do know that the forums are great for general information, questions and some chit chat.. but sometimes.. it is just fun to chat about what ever. I was lucky and got to meet a few good people here, like tottel, on the old site.

I don't think the channel is used much. However, you will find responses are usually quite fast on the forums.

well, at one of my websites (flinside.com) there is a shout box where the users can interact, that doesn't means that they don't ask on forums, the shout box is used only for short answer questions and that.
