How can I change the color and font of the items - menus, line numbers etc.
within the editor.

It would have been better to have the line numbers displayed using a more distinct color than light grey.

Menu colors can't currently be changed, but for line numbers, I'll add option to configure this in one of next releases. Added to the roadmap.
