As I've found myself often using this functionality even recently when importing some models, I've decided that it's in fact a very important feature to have.
The Editor now has basic Mesh Editing functionality:
-select vertexes/faces
-split into separate parts
-merging parts
-move/rotate/scale transform controls
-vertex welding
-hiding/unhiding mesh parts from list
-changing mesh part names

I was never against it, I was just certain that there are more high priority tasks for the moment
Yes, advanced modelling should be done in programs like 3ds Max, Maya, Blender. Because the goal of Esenthel is not to be a 3D modelling program, but a game engine. So if you can do modelling using different means, then you can still get the job done and it was not crucial to have this feature.
However I know that many users (myself included) aren't comfortable with 3D programs as they may be too complex. And often I found myself needing really basic adjustments to the models, that could be done easily.
It's starting to be nice ! Think I'll reconsider to buy the new license... You're doing great on the roadmap.
Now, release the ortho view and I'll marry my beloved sister to you
