EDIT:
Compiler version seems to be changed too
If i create a symlink from libodbc.so.1 to libodbc.so.2 i get CXX version error

RE: Linux issues
That's a pity, cause now we all need to use 14.10 for binary release Even 14.04 with all updates does not work
The best way would be if you compile it with 12.04 (dreams ) to make more releases to be compatible with binary version, not just the last one.

RE: Linux issues
Hello!
I'll see if I can do something about it. But for the moment the fastest way to make it work, would be to upgrade Ubuntu to latest version.

RE: Linux issues
Nice advice
I actually wanted to replace Ubuntu with Arch on my server for a long time. So the time has come!
Arch always have the latest software because it's of "Rolling Release" type, so EE installation was successfull.
And my server now runs EE and "eats" twice less memory than before (Ubuntu took 900 Mb of RAM and Arch now takes 430).

RE: Linux issues
Please use an LTS ubuntu version like 14.04 . Using latest non lts is requiring OS upgrades every 6 months . Not to mention that the comercial games would require customers to keep ubuntu upgraded to latest version ..

RE: Linux issues
Hello!
I've installed 14.04.
Keyboard and Mouse didn't worked for first few reboots.
Then the keyboard started working, but mouse didn't, after few more reboots, the USB mouse started working, but the touchpad doesn't work.
After mouse started working I've discovered that 14.04 doesn't detect my Wi-Fi. I'm using latest MacbookAir 13", it has broadcom 802.11ac BCM4360.
It doesn't have Ethernet port, so I can't have internet through the cable.
Is there any easy way to download Ubuntu Wireless drivers from Windows computer, to be copied to Linux?
If I can't find a solution I'll have to reinstall 14.10 Ubuntu.

RE: Linux issues
I've installed a few drivers, unfortunately none of them helped.
Looks like I'm going to reinstall 14.10.

RE: Linux issues
I'm back on 14.10, there were too many issues with 14.04.
Perhaps for that issue "libodbc.so.2"
you need to update to latest:
sudo apt-get install unixodbc-dev

Linux support is not that important right now for me but common expectation would be that you have a desktop on which you can test your engine with amd/nvidia/intel drivers for compatibility.

Keyboard didn't work sometimes on the login screen.
Touchpad didn't work at all.
USB Mouse worked only after login screen.
Wifi didn't work, even after installing a few drivers by hand.
Screen resolution was limited to 1024x768.
Basically it turned my MacBook Air into something useless
I don't have any of these problems on 14.10.

RE: Linux issues
Oh that's strange... 14.10 shall not be different comparing to 14.04 in that case, because there is still old display manager...
UPD:
I remember previous times you used 13.10. Maybe you can try to use it, or even 12.04?
As i understand you don't want to use Linux in Virtualbox, right?
