Re: Infinite world ... bug?
Hi,
what display options have you selected?
I'm specifically curious about the Viewport range, Shadow Map Size, and Shadow Map Number you have set.

Oh and are you using the latest Engine version, with all files (headers, lib, engine.pak) up to date?

Re: Infinite world ... bug?
Hi, i use diferent settings, most of them by default except some experiments:
Viewport range = 50~5000
Shadow Map Size = 512, 1024, 2048
Shadow Map Number = 6
All with same effect.

Well, it's not the last version, i'm using 30.3
I'm going to update esenthel and try again. I will post results when i get it.

Re: Infinite world ... bug?
Hoo, ok ok i catch the problem.
I see two problems. If i try with viewport range over ~500, appear the problems with shadows (those triangles). The problem with mountains (they become a plain rotating arround their bases) still there though i changed some option.

PS: I updated my drivers but it's a laptop and , you know, his drivers suk lol :.

Re: Infinite world ... bug?
with the shadow triangles I think its rather normal, because 500 range is already big, and older video cards have issues with precision at that range (on a new hardware like geforce 9600gt there's no black triangles)

altough the mountains is a different thing. could you send me the compressed (zip/rar) world so I could check for myself?
Both *.world file, and builded world directory would be useful.
Thanks

oh, and what video card do you have in your laptop? and how much Ram does it have?
you could always try to use the "desktop" drivers if its a geforce.
I've had some problems on a 8600m gt laptop video card, but when I installed the desktop version driver the problems disappeared.

Re: Infinite world ... bug?
ahh, I've checked it and I know what's the problem smile

you've used a special type of "grass" material, which should be used only for grass meshes that "bend on the wind", this material has a feature that it bends according to time. this is ok for small "grass meshes" but shouldnt be used for big world terrain meshes, as you can see that bending doesn't look like it's meant to be.

shortly speaking when painting material on the terrain you've selected "grass/blade.mtrl" material, while you should select "grass/0.mtrl"

in the next engine version I'll add a filter which will not display those materials with the "bending" option in World Editor.
