Abbey of Stratha FINISHED!!!
Here is a new model that I'm currently making. It is called the Abbey of Stratha. It belongs to the Kingdom of Stratham, and is apart of the Fate of Lysian Lore. smile

Man...I am putting it off. You just don't know. I really hate texturing stuff this big. Thanks for encouraging words. smile

Wow! I'm just imagining the finished article with all the matching terrain around it too. Are you doing internal structure too?

RE: Abbey of Stratha
yes. Not every house will have an interior, but every Castle, Abbey, Tudor-Manor, Tavern and buyable house will have an interior.

RE: Abbey of Stratha
Would it be feasible to make it in smaller parts-like each one of those bridge sections-so that you can texture it easier as well as use the individual pieces to create a new object?

If I were making a MMO I would do that, but I am making a PC only game. I don't have to worry as much to make this game for low end computers. I do not rely on the esenthel's ambient occlusion to make a model look good. That means more textures, and more drawcalls to call up those textures. If I was making an MMORPG I would make game pieces, (which I am currently doing for an MMO project with a friend of mine on here) And I would have a game piece library. and I would keep my textures as little number as I could per scene. I do these models in its complete full form all joined so that my Ambient Occlusion maps map better and more accurate. When you have Ambient Occlusion turned on, on my models, it only helps a little, because the AO is already there, but every little bit helps. wink

Thank you for the compliment. smile when people say things like that, it really motivates me to do more and do better.

I love the model cant wait to see the finished product....keep it up.

And you can get away with a little bit more in a single player game but everything has it's limits.

RE: Abbey of Stratha
When adding AO to your models consider throwing them on a 2nd uv set that’s mapped per face, you can get away with a lot smaller AO sized texture and still make use of tileing textures and combine them in your shader.

This would make a great model to approach as a modular building set.
