Improved Lighting
Stumbled across this old (2003) lighting demo and made me think that it would be nice to see a couple of these lighting improvements made to the built-in EE shaders. grin EE already does most of this stuff, but one thing that jumped out at me that seems to be missing is the glare, such as the horizontal and star glare-based flares (like the anamorphic flares that are used in movies and games these days).

He has a demo available (which runs at 700 fps on my machine). I had to download a couple of missing MS DLLs in order to run the demo, but it is definitely worth it as the lighting in this old demo is mesmerizing to watch and fliddle with. Just Google for any missing DLLs and drop them in the same folder as the exe.
